INTRODUCTION TO THE TRADES
Working in a skilled trade will provide a sustainable, living wage and job stability. Train for a job in a high demand field. Take one or all of our basic, hands-on, short-term trade classes to learn about the experience needed to work in a skilled trade. Learn about training programs and apprenticeships in our area. Classes will include: electrical work, welding, basic tiling, and plumbing. After completing these courses, students will gain insight into the range of work in the trades. In this hands-on course, participants will learn the basics of electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures. Understand basic codes. Practice working with tools and equipment in this trade.

This course introduces students to the entry-level concepts and techniques used in welding.

Learn the basics of plumbing: working with pipelines or pipe systems that carry water, steam, air, or other liquids or gases. Practice working with basic equipment and control systems.

Learn the basics of tiling as you work with caulk, sealants, or other agents. Practice applying grout between joints of bricks or tiles, using grouting trowels. Become familiar with the materials, machines, tools, and equipment used in tiling.
